Mia Landry

Playing Bio

I began playing boys hockey at a young age, and transitioned to an all girls team at 9 years old. I played for a small association, Saugeen Maitland Lightning, until moving to Ontario’s U22 league for the Cambridge Rivulettes at age 15 where I spent three years as a defencemen. My collegiate journey started at Post University of NEWHA, Division 1. I then transferred over to Brock University of USPORT during the Covid year. I played 3 years for Brock, while simultaneously coaching girls minor hockey at the U15 age group. I am now the current head coach for the Jr.Badgers U15AA hockey team in St.Catharines. I have been a member of Hockey Canada’s Creating Coaches mentorship program, and recently, a newly inducted member of the NHLCA Female Coach Mentorship program. All of which have equipped me with the experience and knowledge in creating a thoughtful mentorship philosophy and approach.

Mentor Bio

With multiple years of experience both playing and coaching in girls’ hockey, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the game and the unique challenges that come with it. My time on and off the ice has shaped my leadership style and allows me to coach from a place of genuine empathy and insight. I’ve personally navigated the highs and lows of minor hockey, the setbacks, the self-doubt, the pressure to perform, and I take immense pride in using those experiences to guide, inspire, and empower young girls to believe in themselves and unlock their full potential. I combine my playing and coaching experience with my MSc degree in Sport Psychology, bringing a deep, firsthand understanding of what it’s like to strive for more, to feel the weight of expectations and not always know where to turn for guidance. That’s exactly why I’m here: to be the mentor I wish I had at your age, offering the tools, insights, and support you need to grow, not just as an athlete, but as a strong, confident individual ready to take on life’s challenges. Most importantly, I am your unwavering advocate, fully committed to walking alongside you every step of the way. I’m here to support you, challenge you, encourage you, and help turn your goals into reality. Whether you're aiming to build confidence, elevate your performance, or simply find more joy in the game, I’m here to help you thrive.
