Upfront Sports delivers elite, hockey-specific strength and conditioning at UNB’s High-Performance Centre, led by CSEP High Performance Specialist Tanner Somers. Tanner and our certified strength and conditioning coaches have years of experience training top junior, pro, and university players, designing science-based programs that directly enhance on-ice performance. Our workouts are delivered through TrainHeroic, allowing athletes to track progress, receive coaching feedback, and stay accountable. Backed by cutting-edge technology and performance tracking, our training ensures players build the strength, speed, and endurance needed to compete at the highest level.

In-Person Programs

Summer Strength and Conditioning

Led by Tanner Somers

Our six-week Summer Strength & Conditioning Program is designed for 2013–2015-born hockey players who want to prepare their bodies for the upcoming season and arrive at fall tryouts ready to compete.

Players will train three or two days per week at the UNB High Performance Centre, focusing on hockey-specific movement, strength development, conditioning, mobility, and proper training habits. 

The goal of the program is to help athletes build confidence in the gym, improve their overall athleticism, and develop the physical foundation needed to perform on the ice.
